Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 14, 2026
Roll Together ("we," "us," or "our") operates a shared dining companion app that helps couples and friends rate dishes together, preserve blind ratings, build dining memories, and discover mutual favorites. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.
By creating an account or using Roll Together, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.
Information We Collect
Account Information
When you create an account, we collect your email address and display name. You may also sign in with a third-party provider (such as Google), in which case we receive the email and basic profile information that provider shares with us.
Profile & Preferences
You can create a profile with a display name, avatar, and preferences such as discoverability, memory-sharing defaults, and public Foodie Profile settings (taste summary, badges, stats, and food preferences you choose to show publicly).
Dining Activity
When you join or host a table, we store the restaurant, dishes you add, ratings (hearts, value, tasting tags, private notes), and photos you capture. Ratings are collected blind and only revealed to other participants once you submit your own rating for the same dish.
Community Content
When you publish a Dining Memory, comment, react, follow, or save a dish to your Want-to-Try collection, we store that content along with your user identifier and the visibility choices you make.
Connections
We store your friendships, follow relationships, and table invitations so you can share dining experiences with people you choose.
Progression & Achievements
We track experience points (XP), Foodie levels, ranks, and earned badges based on your dining activity. This supports your personal progression and any showcase you choose to display publicly.
Notifications
We store notification records and your notification preferences (including quiet hours) to deliver and manage in-app and push notifications.
Location
When you use the Nearby feed, we use the city or location you select to find public dining memories at restaurants near that area. Location is used for that search and is not continuously tracked in the background.
Beta Program
If you participate in our beta program, we store your beta status, qualification progress, survey responses, and any beta entitlements granted to you.
Managed Diners
If you create a managed diner profile (for example, for a child or companion who does not have their own account), the name you provide and their dining activity within tables you manage is stored and accessible to you.
Device & Usage
We collect basic usage and diagnostic information, such as log data and analytics events, to operate, secure, and improve the app.
How We Use Your Information
Provide the Service
To create and host tables, record blind ratings, reveal results, build your dining memories, and power Community features.
Personalization
To generate your Taste Profile, recommendations, favorites, dish history, and Foodie progression.
Social Features
To connect you with friends and followers, share memories you choose to publish, and notify you of activity relevant to you.
Safety & Moderation
To review reports, moderate Community content, and keep Roll Together a respectful space.
Communications
To send you notifications about tables, friends, memories, achievements, and account security.
Improvement & Security
To analyze usage, troubleshoot issues, prevent abuse, and protect the integrity of the service.
How We Share Your Information
With Other Users
Only the content and visibility you choose is shown to others — for example, memories you publish, your public Foodie Profile (if enabled), and your accepted friendships. Private notes, blind ratings, and account settings are never shared with other users.
Service Providers
We use trusted infrastructure and API providers (including mapping and restaurant data services) to operate the app. These providers process data only as needed to deliver the service and under their own privacy obligations.
Legal Obligations
We may disclose information when required by law, legal process, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of Roll Together, our users, or others.
No Sale of Data
We do not sell your personal information.
Your Privacy Choices
Profile & Visibility
You can edit your display name, avatar, discoverability, memory-sharing defaults, and public Foodie Profile settings at any time from your Profile.
Memory Sharing
You control whether each Dining Memory is shared with friends or kept private, and you can unpublish memories you no longer want visible.
Notifications
You can customize notification categories and enable quiet hours from your notification preferences.
Block Users
You can block other users to prevent them from interacting with you.
Access & Portability
You can view your dining memories, favorites, dish history, and progression within the app.
Account Deletion
You can delete your account at any time from your Profile settings. Deleting your account removes your access and initiates removal of your data from the service.
Data Retention
Active Accounts
We retain your data for as long as your account is active so you can continue building your dining history and progression.
After Deletion
When you delete your account, your data is removed from active use. Some records may be retained in limited, anonymized, or backup form for security, legal, or operational purposes, and certain public Community content may remain visible as governed by your sharing choices.
Children's Privacy
Age Requirement
Roll Together is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Managed diner profiles are created and controlled by an adult account holder and do not create independent accounts.
Security
Safeguards
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your information. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Third-Party Services
External Providers
The app uses third-party services for authentication (such as Google sign-in), mapping and restaurant data, and analytics. These services have their own privacy policies governing the data they collect under their own terms.
External Links
Community content may include links to external sites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of third-party websites.
International Users
Cross-Border Processing
Roll Together is operated from the United States. If you access the service from outside the U.S., your information may be processed in the U.S. where data protection laws may differ from your jurisdiction.
Changes to This Policy
Updates
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the 'Last updated' date and, where appropriate, notify you within the app.
